The Performers

"An actor is a sculptor who carves in snow." - Edwin Booth

Join us for an evening with Broadway's biggest stars as they explore the songs that made them fall in love with the theatre.

It takes a true village to build this industry we all love so much. It takes effort, it takes time, it takes love, and it takes money.

The Players has remained leaders of the Broadway and Off-Broadway world since the 1800s. But it's these 501(c)(3) partners that will help us celebrate this National Historic Landmark well into the next century and beyond.

    This takes a true community!

    Our Mission

The Players Foundation fosters an understanding and appreciation of American theatre through education and preservation activities.  Our unparalleled collection of theatre-related artwork, books, costumes, correspondence as well as items associated with 19th Century theatre legend Edwin Booth, is available to scholars and researchers.  The Foundation is housed at The Players, a New York City social club, founded by Booth in 1888.

    Our Mission

The Players Preservation Fund is the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation charged with restoring and preserving the historic building at 16 Gramercy Park South and its essential infrastructure. Renovated and added to by architect Stanford White in advance of The Players opening in 1888, the building earned National Historic Landmark status in 1962. Through our work, the Players Preservation Fund seeks to preserve this historic Gramercy townhouse for the education and enjoyment of future generations.
